Each participant will be given a flag football belt* at the beginning of the race. Make it through the course and finish with at least one flag and you've survived! FAQs
How long is the course through Fear Forest?
The route through Fear Crops and Fear Forest is approximately 2 miles in length.

Do I have to run through the course?
Nope! You can walk, skip, or crawl if you want. This is a fun event to raise money and awareness for Brain Injury Recovery.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There is no age minimum to participate, BUT we like to let parents know that the zombies may be scary to some children. In addition the zombies will be in full costume, makeup and character.

How many people do we need to register as a group?
10 or more.

What if I want to navigate through Fear Forest but don't want to be bothered by the zombies?
You can kindly let the event staff know you wish to not be bothered by the zombies as you go through Fear Forest and they will not give you a flag football belt to wear. No Belt, No Zombies!

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There will be plenty of parking on the grounds of Fear Forest.

What can I bring into the event?
All of your friends! Sturdy running shoes are also highly suggested.

How can I contact the organizer with questions?
email zombierunforbrains@gmail.com with questions. Response will be given within 24hrs.

The Storybook 5K and Fun Run

Definitely not your average road race, The Storybook 5K and Fun Run provides both a UNIQUE COURSE as well as the opportunity to come up with a great COSTUME!

Dress up as your favorite literary character* and run amongst the Christmas trees growing at Every Soul Acres farm in Keezletown. The route will be mostly grass underfoot and will provide some spectacular views ... though you'll have to climb some hills in order to see them. We think you'll find it's worth the effort to experience fall in the Valley from that vantage point.

After the race, you and your family can visit the farm and take advantage of the activities it offers: pumpkin picking, a corn maze and maybe even sunflowers.

All proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for Redeemer Classical School students from throughout the Shenandoah Valley.

Register by OCTOBER 8 in order to guarantee a t-shirt. (Note that a Fun Run registration does not include a race shirt.) Same-day Race Registrations will be accepted, but they will carry an additional $10 fee.

Packet pick-up will be Friday, October 12, 4 - 6 p.m. at the Redeemer Classical School campus.

* There will be a prize for the Best Costume.
