The annual SVTC Mountain Valley 10K will be held in Grottoes, VA. We will tweak the course to accommodate the expected greater number of runners for our annual High School Track Scholarship fundraiser.

The 10K will start and end at the Mountain View Park (end of 20th Street) in Grottoes. More details will be forthcoming and will be posted on the SVTC’s website.

January is Human Trafficking awareness month. To help bring awareness to human trafficking in our area EMS 8th graders Hayleigh Lam and Lillie Merica will be hosting this 5k as part of their Star Event Project for the FCCLA state conference that will take place in the spring. The race will start at the Elkton Community Center in Elkton, VIrginia on January 12th, 2018. All proceeds will benefit New Creation, located in Harrisonburg, VA. Cardio Blast

Take your training to the next level with an outdoor/indoor experience that challenges total body strength, speed, and endurance. The class was designed with runners in mind, but any individual seeking to get stronger will benefit also.

You'll want to bring a friend (or two!) for this one, as there will be a relay component. Beverages will be shared at the end (there will be a selection).

What you will need: water bottle, yoga mat and/or towel, appropriate footwear for running. We will be outside and in the grass.

Event will be at Hillendale Park from 9 a.m.-11ish a.m.
Early Registration: $35 - comes with an event shirt! Day of Race Registration: $40 - shirt is not guaranteed.
2 age categories: 16-100, the top 3 finishers will receive medals. Medals will also be awarded to the top 3 finishers in the youth category; ages up to 15.

CATHalf Trail Half-Marathon & Pounding Creek Trail Marathon

We have opened registration for this year’s running of the CATHalf Trail Half-Marathon, which will take place on Saturday, October 27th, 2018 starting at 8 am.

Also, we are excited to announce that we have added a second race to the day, the Pounding Creek Trail Marathon, starting at the same place and time as the CATHalf. The Pounding Creek Marathon consists of two loops of the CATHalf course, with the second loop going in the reverse direction of the first. We are adding the Pounding Creek Marathon for those of you wanting a longer distance fall run as part of the CATs repertoire. And we are excited to have this race on the Miller School trails and make the Miller School and its great trail system part of another great race!
